This particular example was acquired brand new and unused and has subsequently been enhanced using Accurascale's complete All Inclusive Class 37 Upgrade Bundle. The upgrade package combines an ESU LokSound DCC decoder custom programmed specifically for the Accurascale Class 37, Accurathrash 8-ohm speake r, Accurathrash Class 37 s peaker retaining clips and matching Modelu crew. The locomotive has never been used on a layout. It has only been removed from its packaging for installation of the All Inclusive Upgrade Bundle and subsequent operational testing. Certificate: Original exclisivity certificate included. 37901 "Mirrlees Pioneer" is one of the most distinctive members of the Class 37 family. Originally built as D6850 in 1963, the locomotive was selected for the experimental Class 37/9 re-engining programme and converted at BREL Crewe Works in 1986. It became 37901 and was fitted with a six-cylinder Mirrlees Blackstone MB275T power unit, becoming the first member of the small and highly distinctive Class 37/9 subclass. The experimental installation resulted in a number of differences from conventional Class 37s, including distinctive roof modifications reproduced on the Accurascale model.

ACC3159-EXL was an Accurascale Exclusive rather than a standard retailer release and was supplied in special presentation packaging together with a limited-edition certificate. This particular example has the additional attraction of remaining unused, while having subsequently received Accurascale's complete All Inclusive Class 37 Upgrade Bundle. For the collector, Class 37 enthusiast or modern-image modeller, it therefore combines a particularly desirable specification. The striking Europhoenix livery, unusual Class 37/9 prototype, superb Accurascale detailing and the transformation provided by the All Inclusive Upgrade Bundle make this a locomotive I would very happily keep and run on my own layout.
