A Bachmann OO gauge 32-776K British Railways Class 37 (English Electric Type 3) Co-Co diesel locomotive in green livery with pre-TOPS number D6717 with late BR crest on the sides. The model is a Bachmann 2005/2006 Collector's Club special limited edition model and is equipped with South West Digital DCC Sound. The Class 37 is the split headcode variant and is very well detailed with etched ventilation grilles, red ventilation fan, sprung buffers, wire handrails, windscreen wipers and yellow axle box covers. Sound holes have been drilled on the underside of the fuel tanks, in which the speaker has been fitted.
The model has been given a professional graded weathering treatment including around the roof exhaust ports. The weathering is very effective, giving the locomotive a very authentic industrial look.
On the track, it has an ESU sound decoder with a South West Digital sound project on it, which is superb. There are instructions on how to obtain the best from the sound system, which is versatile enough to replicate the full range of distinctive Class 37 sounds.
A sample of this locomotive sound function is available by browsing the Minirails Twitter feed. The model is boxed in its original Bachmann packaging with instructions, sound instructions, internal pack and a vanity card.
The combination of the base Special Edition Bachmann locomotive with the SWD Sound System and professional weathered finish result in a superb and unique model.
